From what I've read, she's already got a fair amount of superdelegates that have pledged to support her. Some are staying neutral. Some aren't. I'm writing letters to all the superdelegates in my state, even if they've already pledged their support to Clinton. I'm stubborn like that. ;)

You know what's odd? I saw no Clinton support in my town. None. No signs, no stickers, no door knockers, no phone calls. I saw a fair amount of Obama support. Yet she won by more than 10,000 votes over Obama in this county, and I'm still bewildered by it.

As a side note, my county (Lake County, Ohio) is the bellwether for the state.

Same here! She's barely visited Alabama (if at all...visits from Bill don't count in my book), there's no pro-Hillary paraphernalia around here, and yet she got 30-something percent of the vote. Obama cleaned up, but the mere fact that almost a third of Alabamians thought she should be the nominee kind of disturbs me.

She won in Rhode Island too, but, like the above commenter, I haven't seen ANY pro-Hillary paraphernalia around here. Nor did I have to put boots in the asses of any Clinton-hovah's Witnesses because they were knocking on my door at 10AM on Sunday morning (two weeks in a row!) like I did with Obama's. Weird.

Anecdotally speaking in Maryland I'm definitely seeing Obama signs/stickers over Clinton ones, about, oh 4-to-1. Of course, he won here. While I don't actively poll people, I have yet to find a Hillary supporter among my family, friends, or coworkers. Everyone's either offering up a very lackluster, "McCain, I guess, if I have to..." (because they just can't bear to vote for a Democrat) or a resounding "Obama!!"

It's all about Image and Style. Looking at the three candidates who the hell else can 1. inspire huge base turnout, 2. win the majority of the centrists/independents? One could, maybe, argue that possibly McCain could, but there's no way one could argue Hillary could. If she wins the nomination, I guarantee a lot of people who would otherwise be voting for Obama will stay home. Among Obama voters, only the real stalwart anti-Republicans will hold their noses and vote for Hillary, if she wins the nomination. The moment she takes office her popularity will plummet, the Republican attack machine will be in full effect, and everyone will be sick of looking at her face and hearing her voice.

I don't have a dog in the fight, but I will say this:

I hate that we have rolling primaries, because guess what? By the time the Republican primary hits Idaho, the voters here have, more or less, one choice - as opposed to 6+ earlier in the year.

Ron Paul is staying in the race and will have my vote, but for all of the people who might have been more aligned with Romney (and this is Idaho after all), or Huckabee... oh well?

Anyway, there are still people who would like to cast their vote for Hillary, and if she drops out, she takes that choice along with her. I think it's an injustice to voters to send them to a voting booth with one choice.

Aaand this is why I really think we need a national primary day. The power the first states - like Iowa, for chrissakes - have over the whole process is entirely too much, and the power the later states have is almost nil - other than to go along with what the status quo.
