I really really wish Hillary Clinton would drop out already...the longer all of this goes on - despite it being all but impossible for her to win the nomination - the harder it is for me to like her, and the harder it will be to vote for her come November. Not saying I won't or anything, but dammit, stuff like this just pisses me off:

1. Democratic Official: Clinton Pursuing the "Tanya Harding Option"

And then, this a bit later:

2. Clinton: Wright "Would Not Have Been My Pastor"

Not that she's trying to deflect attention from the whole OMG BOSNIA WAS FULL OF SNIPERS CHASING ME! thing that's dogging her right now (for good reason, as she stretched the truth beyond recognizable dimensions - and video can directly prove her wrong)

I'm sorry, but I'm just not feeling any Hillary love lately.

You know my Obama ambivalence, but HC's response to the Wright thing is really pissing me off. It's exactly the reason why I was ambivalent about her, too.

I'm certainly ambivalent about her - and already was, to be fair - but it's getting to the point where it will be hard to ever vote for her in good conscience. I mean, some of the shit she's pulling lately is beyond frustrating.

It's been a good few weeks since I've been able to say that I'd vote for Hillary at all. At first I was on the fence, then I kind of liked Obama, then I outright decided that he was "my" candidate, but all the while I said that no matter who got the nomination, I'd vote Dem. I no longer feel this way. I'd probably vote Green or write-in, if she got the nomination. I can't vote for her in good conscience.

See, and that's such a problem, because more and more people are going that way. About the only way I can honestly see John McCain being elected President is if Hillary - at this point in time - gets the nomination. Even if she's somehow able to do that, she's pissing soooo many people off along the way, that it's hard to see how it could be worth it.

I try to look at it from the other side too, and I can't find near as much to keep Hillary supporters from voting for Obama come November should he get the nomination. I mean, what has he done like this (other than out-campaign her in nearly every single way)?

Also, her advisers have to be batshit insane - this has been a horrible campaign from "Day One".

I will vote for Obama if he gets the nomination but there's a lot he's done (or rather not done) that I don't like. Voting for (or missing the vote) every single spending bill for the war is one thing (after promising he would not vote for any bill that funded the war), missing 80% of the votes in the Senate since November is another thing. He has missed voting for an awful lot of progressive legislation, including lifting some restrictions on abortion, improving medical care and education on reservations, protecting rape and sexual abuse victims from HIV....and more.

Clinton has missed votes also, but not nearly as many.

I understand there are things you don't like about Obama's senate record, and that's totally fair game - I have plenty of disputes with Hillary's senate record as well (most notably the War vote, but other hawkish votes as well), and this is politics so one's political record should surely come under discussion.

But...that's not what I was referring to when saying I'd have a hard time voting for her at this point - it's the stupid shit she's been doing the past few weeks, and the lengths she's willing to go to in order to try and get a nomination that is essentially beyond her reach at this point. I take issue with the ways in which she has been attacking Obama - and to try and add any fuel to this Jeremiah Wright business, as she did today, is totally ridiculous and ultimately hurtful to Obama's chances in the general election.

The campaigns aren't as important to me as what they've actually accomplished as law makers. Our campaigns today are much nicer than they were 200 years ago. At least the politicians don't shoot each other now.
The word campaign means, "to wage war." And, all's fair.....
I was also very turned off by Obama's "Hillary gets emotional periodically" remark. He knew exactly what he was saying, he selects every word very carefully. And, that was a sexist remark.

I imagine, sadly, that there are plenty of Hillary supporter who agree with her about Wright and wouldn't want to elect someone who has a "racist" pastor. I think you might be surprised at how much Wright has hurt Obama's chances among more moderate white liberals.

I hope I'm wrong, because I really like Obama, but I am not feeling too optimistic about a democrat winning in November any more.

It's been longer than a few weeks for me, but I'm right there with you.

I'll vote for my own damn self before Hillary Clinton at this point.

A while ago, I thought it would be friggin' awesome if either one, Obama or Clinton, were the other's running mate. After reading all this stuff about Clinton, I don't even know if I could be happy with her as Obama's running mate. She's making a total ass out of herself...

Meanwhile, Obama is looking more and more charismatic, intelligent, and graceful. I've never been this moved by a presidential candidate; Obama rules.

When she called Wright's sermons "hate speech," she once and for all lost my vote. Even if she gets the nom, by some freak of mathematics, I will not vote for her.
