Save it for your iVillage blog, Lemon.
This couldn't be a more useless discussion, but still...30 Rock has now officially passed The Office in funny. For quite a while, I'd felt it catching up - but still I defended the Dundler-Miflin gang from Tina Fey's furious onslaught of funny - but watching them back to back last night there is simply no question about it. 30 Rock is the sharpest show on network TV, in addition to the funniest. I'd say it's closing in on Arrested Development territory lately, which is like saying that something is approaching perfection. Seriously, I couldn't even keep track of all the funny lines last night, and trying to remember them all now I'm only struck by how I need to watch the episode all over again. Tracey Morgan supporting John McCain (or trying anyway)? Brilliant.

"My fellow Black Americans, Dr. King once had a dream - a dream that we all share - to build a 200 foot high wall to keep Mexico out. And he also hated the estate tax."

The return of Liz's old boyfriend Dennis Duffy? Also brilliant:

"We're like Ross and Rachel, only not gay."

Last night's entire episode:

man, i was so excited when i looked at the info panel for last night's episode and saw that dennis would return! his first episode is probably my absolute favorite 30 rock episode. ("did you get a picture of that with your beeper?" "actually, my beeper doesn't have a camera. it does have a pedometer, though. but not this model...")

i thought this week's office was something of an improvement on last week's totally awkward and sometimes unfunny episode, but i think you might be right that 30 rock has surpassed the series in terms of funny.

"Oh, yeah, that's Republican, we count those."

I have to admit I've never watched 30 Rock, but given how The Office is off to kind of a rough start, I may have to start watching it! I haven't liked the last two episodes very much at all.

The problem I have with 30 rock is that while I love Tracy Morgan, I do not think Tina Fey is funny and I think Alec Baldwin is overrated (he's good, not great).

Then again, I watch like three television shows regularly outside of sports. I like The Office though.

Tracy Morgan is one of the funniest motherfuckers I've ever watched. That guy can say like ONE WORD and have me rolling.

No no no, it's Blackmericans not Black Americans. *sigh/eye-roll* Obviously you aren't as cult following as I am... yet!!!

For reals though, this show is totally closing in on Arrested Development for me too.

Oh man, we had to pause after the iVillage blog part to laugh.

...but only because he didn't know the word for rape.

When I say Subway, you say Hero.
